What we publish
Statistics that trace to a primary source, written so each one stands alone, with its source, date and data year.
What we never publish
- Numbers we cannot trace to the organisation that produced them.
- Made-up, estimated or "illustrative" figures presented as real.
- Paid placements, or changes to a number because someone asked or paid.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to find candidate sources and draft sentences. A person opens every source and confirms every number before it is published. No statistic goes live on an AI tool's word alone.
Vendor data
Some topics only have data from companies about their own customers. We label it as vendor data, show the sample and the period, and explain why vendors' numbers differ.
Conflicts of interest
When a page covers a market where the publisher has a commercial interest, we say so on that page.
Corrections
Report an error with the link on any statistic or through our contact page. We check every report, fix confirmed errors and log them in the corrections log.
